It seems to be working

Here is my progress thus far since joining Weight Watchers April 10

April 17 - 3lbs

April 24 -.8 lb

May 1 - 1.6

May 8 -2.4

May 15 -1

May 29 -4.6

For those of you scoring at home Grand Total thus far is 13.4 lbs lost.

Woohooo! I can now wear my "Skinny Jeans" size 12 that I haven't been able to wear for about 3 years. This is a real motivator for me. I'm feeling healthier with more energy as well.

Okay - I caved and joined WW

I finally decided I need help to lose this extra weight. I joined
WW on April 10th. So I've been at it for a week and I lost 3 lbs in the first week!
Yay me!
I will be on this journey for at least the next five months. I hope to make it a lifestyle for myself. I think it is a livable program, with lots of flexibility.
I am inspired by the healthnuts gang, and all the gals there who have beaten the bulge. Especially Nicky, who made the cover of the Aussie Weight Watchers Magazine. How totally cool. I'm on my way.... I need to stick to this. 'Getting married in July and I want to look purdy in my photos. ;-)

Easter Weekend Get-Away

We had such a great time in Seattle....
We saw it all - Pike Place Market, Space Needle, rode in a contraption called "a Duck" which was originally developed for World War II, and is both a land vehicle and a boat (we cruised Lake Union). Forgot the camera at home (we had 3 kids and a dog - which we didn't forget), so I bought the cheesy tourist photo as a keepsake. I walked miles and miles (the doggie park was a mile each way from the hotel), and we walked to all the attractions.
We stayed at a beautiful hotel called Hotel Monaco, where the service was great, and the decor fabulous. My DH said he felt like the "Beverly Hillbillies" falling out of the mini-van at the valet parking. I'm sure we were an entertaining spectacle.
It was a real treat, which we will remember fondly.

Here I go again

Spring has sprung and the torrential flood has stopped.
The sun finally came out for the first time in a month!
(I'm serious!) We are talking gloom!
I was ready to build the ark.
The sunshine has me inspired to renew my fitness efforts.
After a series of setbacks (terrible bout of the flu, and a car accident)
I am recommitting.
I joined a local running club today, and look forward to this once a week clinic that starts on Monday. I made some healthy prepared meals on the weekend for the freezer, so it will be easier to stay on track with what I put in the body.
I plan to continue my gym efforts as well.
Yay.
